John W. Madden III:
A History in Law
After more than 40 years of practice as a lawyer covering almost all fields of litigation, and representing both plaintiffs and defendants, John W. Madden, Ill, decided to withdraw from the full-time practice of law and pursue Colorado mediation services.
His practice had included over 150 trials and various appeals together with his participation in more than 250 mediations, some of which involved him as the mediator. His role as a mediator first began in the late 90’s upon a request from the then Chief Judge of the Denver District Court for Madden to participate in a year-long pilot program as mediator for a group of complex civil cases to be assigned.
From Litigation to Mediation
Madden’s goal is to now focus his professional efforts on Colorado mediation services. In this respect, his prior 250 mediation experiences involved many of the best mediators in Colorado, including those from the Judicial Arbiter Group and many from JAMS. His exposure to their mediation practices, as well as his own mediation experiences, have covered a very broad range of civil cases and areas of the law. These have allowed him to broaden, develop, and refine his skills as a mediator.
